BTS to compete for Grammy Award for third time

SEOUL February 6 (Yonhap) -- K-pop superstar group BTS will be trying out for the Grammy Awards which will take place on Monday (KST), the “65th Grammy Awards” will be BTS’ third year trying out for the award.

BTS’ has been nominated under the segment “Best Pop Duo Group Performance,” and “Best Music Video.”

Moreover, Coldplay’s 9th album, “Music Of the Spheres” which includes the band’s collaborative track with BTS “My Universe” has also been nominated under one of the 4 General Fields “Album Of The Year,” those who have participated on the production of the winning tracks from featuring artists, songwriters and more for the four main awards given out will be marked as a winner.

Therefore, if the Coldplay manages to win the award for “Album Of The Year” BTS will also be awarded with the record of winning “Album Of The Year.” Moreover, RM, Suga, J-hope will be recorded as the songwriter under the album.

Previously BTS, was nominated with their world wide hit “Dynamite,” and “Butter” in 63rd and 64th of the “Grammy Awards” under “Best Pop Duo Group Performance,” however group has no luck at winning the award. This will be group’s third try at the Grammy Awards Trophy.

Under the segment “Best Pop Duo Group Performance,” Abba, Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Doja Cat, Sam Smith, and more of the famous stars have been nominated alongside BTS.

Moreover, artists Adele, Tayler Swift, Doja Cat, and more of the global stars have been nominated alongside BTS on “Best Music Video” segment which the group was nominated with their Korean track “Yet To Come.”

Since BTS’ eldest member Jin enlisted into the military in January 2023, the whole team will not be participating at the scene of the award ceremony, however whether the group will be able to receive an award for the first time as the K-pop artist attracts a lot of attention.
