SEOUL April 3 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group NewJeans has successfully guarded its top places within South Korea’s biggest music streaming platform Melon for the past three months, addressed group’s entertainment agency ADOR on Monday.
ADOR addressed “NewJeans managed to set the record none of the artist has managed to set since the beginning of Melon’s service which kicked off on November of 2004.”
NewJeans’ track “Ditto” which was released in December of 2022, has been on top of the Melon chart since December 19 until March 27, in total of 99 days. The record set by NewJeans exceeds the global sensation BTS’ record of withholding the throne for 75 days with their track “Dynamite.”
“Ditto” and latest single’s title track “OMG” has also successfully guarded its place on the Billboard’s main single chart “Hot 100” for 5 and 6 weeks showcasing its global recognition and fame.
