SEOUL, March 26 (Yonhap) -- Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin is set to be fined for workplace harassment and failing to properly investigate allegations of such misconduct as an employer.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor confirmed on Tuesday that its Seoul Western District Office had issued a preliminary notice to Min regarding the fine.

The case stems from an incident last year when a former ADOR employee reported workplace bullying by one of Min’s close associates to HYBE. Min allegedly attempted to cover up the case, defended the accused, and personally used abusive language, leading the employee to file a formal complaint with labor authorities.

The Seoul Western District Office concluded that Min had engaged in workplace harassment and failed to conduct an objective investigation as required of an employer.

According to Article 76-3 of the Labor Standards Act, an employer must conduct an impartial investigation without delay upon receiving or becoming aware of a workplace harassment complaint. Under current law, workplace harassment by an employer can result in a fine of up to 10 million won (US$6,800), while failure to conduct a timely and objective investigation can lead to a fine of up to 5 million won.

Previously, Min publicly refuted the former employee’s claims, suggesting there might be ulterior motives behind the allegations, especially amid her legal dispute with HYBE.

A representative from Min’s side stated, "There are discrepancies between the findings and the actual facts. We will submit our objections and formally appeal the preliminary fine notice."
