JEONJU, May 6 (Yonhap) -- The festival's organizing committee has decided to partially reduce the event s as a visitor and volunteer at the Jeonju International Film Festival has been confirmed to have a novel coronavirus infection (Covid-19).
Volunteer A, an asymptomatic infected person, worked on disinfecting and replacing microphones at discussion meetings held during the film festival.
The city explained that after A was confirmed, 53 volunteers were fully tested, but all have been tested negative.
Seven volunteers, whose working place overlaps with Mr. A, has gone into self-isolation in case of emergency.
Visitors B attended the film festival on the 1st and 2nd and has been tested positive for Covid-19.
He was found to have no contacts by following quarantine rules such as sitting up and wearing a mask.
"We are identifying additional movements and contacts of the infected persons through CCTV," a city official said. "We plan to further strengthen quarantine, including the mandatory wearing of latex gloves during the film festival."
The festival's organizing committee has decided to raise the level of response to Covid-19 by one notch for the rest of the film festival.
First of all, the volunteer shelter will be closed and tickets will be refunded in full if visitors are reluctant to watch the movie.
The closing press preview will be held as scheduled, but the closing press conference will be turned online.
