PM orders thorough probe into Korea National Railway's alleged involvement in martial law

SEOUL, May 7 (Yonhap) -- Prime Minister Kim Min-seok ordered a thorough investigation Thursday into suspicions that Korea National Railway internally circulated content of ousted former President Yoon Suk Yeol's martial law decree and tried to implement it even after the National Assembly demanded the lifting of the illegal act.

Kim issued the order to the transport minister, saying the case should have been investigated when the government task force was in operation until February to overhaul the government and root out those involved in Yoon's failed martial law bid on Dec. 3, 2024, his office said.

Kim also ordered the minister to check if there were similar cases at other entities under the ministry.

Korea National Railway is a state entity responsible for the construction and maintenance of national railways.
