Seventeen's Jeonghan to pause group activities due to ankle surgery

SEOUL, Dec. 14 (Yonhap) -- Jeonghan, a member of K-pop group Seventeen, will be taking a break from group activities due to an ankle injury that required surgery on Thursday, the group's agency said.

"Jeonghan received an operation in the morning after experiencing worsening pain in his ankle," Pledis Entertainment said, adding that the operation was successful.

This will make it impossible for him to participate in upcoming group activities, including the band's "Follow to Japan" and "Follow to Asia" tours, the agency said.

Seventeen is scheduled to perform in Fukuoka, Japan, on Saturday and Sunday, followed by dates in Bangkok (Dec. 23-24), Bulacan, the Philippines, (Jan. 13-14) and Macao (Jan. 20-21) as part of the tours.
