Museum for Joseon Dynasty annals to open
Reporters tour the annals of the 1392-1910 Joseon Dynasty, called "Joseon Wangjo Sillok (a true record of Joseon Dynasty)" in Korean, at the National Museum of Joseon Wangjo Sillok in Pyeongchang, 180 km east of Seoul, on Nov. 9, 2023. The museum, set to open on Nov. 12, will showcase 157 books of Sillok and "Uigwe," which records and illustrates Joseon's royal protocols, all of which were looted by Japan in 1913 during the Japanese colonial rule of Korea and retrieved in 2006, 2011 and 2017. The annals were listed on the UNESCO Memory of the World Registry in 1997. (Yonhap)
