Gov't to execute 70 pct of disabilities employment support budget in H1
SEOUL, Jan. 30 (Yonhap) -- The government will front-load 70 percent of this year's budget on supporting employment for people with disabilities in the first half of the year, the budget ministry said Friday.
Under the plan, 70 percent of the annual 1.14 trillion-won (US$793.4 million) budget will be executed between January and June, according to the Ministry of Planning and Budget.
Of the total, 130 billion won was already spent this month for a program aimed at providing employment incentives and vocational training support.
A separate new program introduced this year provides monthly subsidies of 350,000 won to 450,000 won per worker to companies with 50 to 99 employees that fail to meet mandatory hiring quotas but expand employment of people with severe disabilities.
The payment will begin in April, the ministry added.
