NAMWON, May 31 (Yonhap) -- Young Mandarin ducks leisurely swim next to their mother at the Gwanghanruwon pond in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do on Monday.

 

The Mandarin ducks visit the pond within Gwanghanruwon garden every spring to lay eggs and hatch the ducklings, which has also become an attraction for tourists or visitors.

 

The ducks inhabit rivers and reservoirs in winter, nesting in old trees during the breeding season which falls between April to July.

 

In addition, the Mandarin ducks are admired for their beauty and is designated as Korea's Natural Monument No. 327.
