SEOUL, May 4 (Yonhap) -- Danny Lee (Korean name Lee Jin-myung), a Korean-New Zealander who plays on the PGA Tour, will not attend the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Danny Lee told the New Zealand Golf Association on the 4th (KST) that he would not participate in the Tokyo Olympics to concentrate on the PGA tour.

Danny Lee, who was ranked 192nd in the FedEx Cup rankings, declined to participate in the Tokyo Olympics, saying he had to concentrate on the tour to keep his PGA Tour card.

Danny Lee is ranked 174th, the highest in the world among New Zealand national golfers. World No. 181 Ryan Fox is set to compete in the Tokyo Olympics instead of Danny Lee.

Danny Lee, who represented New Zealand at the 2016 Rio Olympics, finished 27th.

Dean Murphy, CEO of the New Zealand Golf Association, said, "Danny Lee made a tough decision after careful consideration. He is always the pride of New Zealand golf."
