Memorial day for victims of sexual slavery

Vice Gender Equality and Family Minister Lee Ki-soon reads a message on behalf of Gender Equality and Family Minister Kim Hyun-sook during a ceremony in Seoul on Aug. 14, 2023, to mark International Memorial Day for Comfort Women. In 2018, South Korea established the memorial day to remember the victims of sex crimes committed by Japan during World War II.
