S. Korea marks 43rd anniv. of 1980 pro-democracy uprising

A memorial ceremony to pay tribute to slain pro-democracy fighters is held in the rain at a national cemetery in the southwestern city of Gwangju on May 18, 2023, to mark the 43rd anniversary of a pro-democracy uprising.
