Protest against park for late communist composer

Members from the conservative Liberty Unification Party hold a rally in front of Gwangju City Hall, 267 kilometers south of Seoul, on Aug. 28, 2023, calling for the city to stop the construction of a park for Chinese revolutionary musician Chung Yool-sung (1914∼1976), who had composed marches for the Chinese and North Korean armies during the 1950-53 Korean War. Born in Gwangju, Chung was naturalized in China in 1956. (Yonhap)
