
Labor ministry starts on-site probes into unions
Officials of the Korean Metal Workers' Union (KMWU) hold up a protest sign in front of the KMWU office in Seoul on April 21, 2023, ahead of an on-site investigation by the labor ministry regarding the preservation of accounting documents. Starting the same day, the ministry kicked off a two-week on-site administrative investigation of 42 unions, including the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and its 36 affiliated unions, and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions and its three affiliated unions.
