
N.K. excavates Miocene whale fossils
This photo, released by North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency on Oct. 6, 2023, shows eight-meter-long whale fossils, excavated by a Kim Il-sung University research team in the North Korean village of Hosan-ri, North Hamgyong Province, between July 2021-February 2023. The fossils date back to the middle of the Miocene period (15.97-11.63 million years ago). (For Use Only in the Republic of Korea. No Redistribution) (Yonhap)
