Rally against removal of artist's works
Protestors from an anti-Japan civic group, the Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance for the Issues of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan, stage a rally at the "Place of Memory" park on Mount Nam in Seoul on Sept. 4, 2023, to condemn the Seoul metropolitan government for its decision to remove the works of artist Lim Ok-sang at the park made to pay tribute to "comfort women," who were forced into its wartime military brothels during World War II. The decision came after Lim was convicted of sexual assault and given six months in prison, suspended for two years. (Yonhap)
