SEOUL, June 29 (Yonhap) -- K-pop songstress
Taeyeon will return to the music industry with a new disco pop song
"Weekend" on July 6, according to the singer's agency SM Entertainment.
The song expresses breaking free of the repetitive daily life style and enjoy
doing what one loves during the weekend.
The combination of the cheerful guitar and retro synthesizer sounds as well as Taeyeon's
"singing rap" technique revived the exciting atmosphere of the song.
This is the first time in six months for Taeyeon to release a new song since
her fourth mini-album "What Do I Call You" was released last December.
At that time, the title track with the same name of the album swept the top of
the music charts shortly after its release.
Since her solo debut, Taeyeon has made several hits, including "I,"
"Rain," "Fine," "Four Seasons," "Spark"
and "Happy," making her a prominent female solo singer within the
K-pop industry.
