N.K. conducts tactical nuclear strike drill

This composite photo, released by North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency on Aug. 31, 2023, shows the launch of two tactical ballistic missiles by the North Korean army the previous night, in a drill to strike major command centers and operational airfields of the South Korean army in response to the ongoing South Korea-U.S. joint military drill, the Ulchi Freedom Shield, which mobilized B-1B nuclear strategic bombers earlier in the day. The missiles were fired northeastward at Pyongyang International Airport and burst in midair at a preset altitude of 400 meters above the target island, according to the agency.
