SEOUL, June 18 (Yonhap) -- The second season of tvN's drama "Hospital Playlist," which returned from a year long hiatus, recorded double-digit ratings for its first episode, the highest record achieved among tvN's dramas.

The ratings of tvN's Thursday drama "Hospital Playlist" season 2, which aired at 9 p.m. the previous day, earned an average 10% viewership nationwide and recorded a maximum of 12.4% at one point in the episode, according to Nielsen Korea, a ratings research company on Friday.

The pilot episode for season 2 of "Hospital Playlist" focused on the daily lives of five doctors including, Ik-joon (played by actor Cho Jung-seok), Jung Won (played by Yoo Yeon-seok), Jun-wan (Jung Kyung-ho), Seok-hyeong (Kim Dae-myung), and Song Hwa (played by actress Jeon Mi-do).

The friendship of the five doctors became tighter in the new season, giving the audience a pleasant comfort, and the stories of patients and their families were touching. The power of producer Shin Won-ho and writer Lee Woo-jung's partnership was also proven as many people were able to be immersed with the show without any provocative content and scenes.

Jung-won and Gyeo-wool (played by actress Shin Hyun-bin) were also seen to start a new romantic relationship, however Ik-joon, Song-hwa, Seok-hyung and Min-ha (played by actress Ahn Eun-jin) once again missed a chance to be connected with the person they loved. Many viewers are focusing on whether additional love lines could be formed this season.

Wrapping up the episode, the scene where Mido and Falasol, a band consisting of the five doctors on the show, played "Rain and You," received good reviews by the audience.

tvN's "My Roomate Is a Gumiho" recorded 4.2 percent while JTBC's "Monthly Magazine Home" recorded 2.3 percent in ratings.
