Crime action thriller 'Hard Hit' tops box office for two weeks

SEOUL, July 5 (Yonhap) -- Actor Cho Woo-jin's actioner "Hard Hit" has topped the box office for two weeks in a row.

 

"Hard Hit" maintained the top spot with 234,000 viewers over the past three days between July 2-4, according to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) on Monday.  

Release on June 23, "Hard Hit" was able to gather a total of 734,000 viewers.

Disney's live-action film "Cruella," which was released in May, has also retained its spot at the top of the box office for six consecutive weeks. "Cruella," which is currently ranked as second place added 165,000 viewers during the weekend, surpassing 1.72 million viewers in total.

"A Quiet Place Part II" and Pixar animation film "Luca" also leveled up from the previous week, ranking third and fourth respectively.

"A Quiet Place Part II" added 97,000 viewers, while "Luca" attracted 62,000 viewers--totaling up to 329,000.

The comic action film "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" ranked three steps lower into fifth place. It attracted more than 57,000 people over the weekend.

Among the newly released films, the thriller movie "Midnight" starring actress Jin Ki-joo and the musical film "In the Heights" ranked sixth and seventh respectively.

The number of people who visited the theaters last weekend was 757,000, which is slightly less from the previous week with 797,000 people.
