SEOUL, July 7 (Yonhap) -- "Black Widow," which is set to be released around the world at 5 p.m. on the 7th, is expected to be a smashing hit, surpassing 90.4% in reservation rates and 291,000 presold tickets in South Korea at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
The figure far exceeds this year's most-watched "F9," the latest chapter in the "Fast and Furious" series.
"F9," which was released in May, recorded 200,000 presold tickets a day before its release, the highest since the COVID-19 outbreak.
"Black Widow" broke the record the previous evening, with the presold tickets surpassing 250,000.
Marvel Studios' latest film "Black Widow," released two years after "Avengers: Endgame," unravels the story of Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson, who deals with the secrets of her past before she became an Avenger.
The movie will be introduced in various film formats such as IMAX, 4DX&4D, ScreenX, and Dolby Cinema.
