Police arranging questioning date for Moon's daughter over alleged drunk driving
SEOUL, Oct. 7 (Yonhap) -- Police have not yet determined when to call in the daughter of former President Moon Jae-in for questioning over her alleged drunk driving, a senior police official said Monday.
Moon Da-hye has been booked for investigation after she caused a collision with a taxi in Seoul's Itaewon district at 2:51 a.m. Saturday. Her blood alcohol concentration was reportedly measured at 0.14 percent, exceeding the 0.08 percent threshold for driver's license revocation.
"She took a breathalyzer test at the scene and walked with police to the nearby police substation," the senior official of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency told reporters, adding that she had no particular problem with communication at the time.
Police allowed her to go home after confirming her identity as with other drunk driving cases, he said.
"In case of drunk driving accidents, we usually conduct breathalyzer tests and confirm the identity and circumstances of accidents before letting them go home. We call them in later for questioning," the official said. "The same procedures were followed in Moon's case too."
The official declined to say how and with whom she left for home, citing privacy.
Police have been looking into the taxi's dashcam memory card while coordinating the schedule to question her.
"Coordination is still under way. Nothing specific has been finalized yet," the official said.
The exact amount of drinks she had at the time was also unknown, police said, adding they plan to look further into the matter.
