Indonesian Embassy hosts cultural festival in Seoul

SEOUL, Sept. 20 (Yonhap) -- The Indonesian Embassy in Seoul held a cultural event at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul on Saturday, showcasing the Southeast Asian nation's culture, food and arts to local and international visitors.

The Festival Indonesia 2025 featured a food zone serving nasi goreng, mie goreng and other traditional Indonesian dishes, as well as a craft zone offering batik clothing, handmade products and interactive traditional games.

On the main stage, visitors were treated to traditional performances, including gamelan music, Reog Ponorogo dance, and shows by the Indonesian cultural troupe KTTI. Indonesian pop singer Armand Maulana capped off the festivities with a live concert.

The festival was aimed at strengthening cultural ties between South Korea and Indonesia while also providing a platform for Indonesian small businesses and artists to reach wider audiences.

The embassy said the program was supported by Indonesian banks, including Bank Mandiri and Bank Syariah Indonesia, and drew participation from the Indonesian student community in Korea.
