
Kin of S. Korea's 1st president dies
Rhee In-soo, the adopted son of South Korea's first president, Rhee Syng-man, visits a monument bearing the portraits and names of those who were killed in a pro-democracy revolution, at the April 19th National Cemetery in Seoul to offer an apology to pro-democracy fighters, in this file photo dated Sept. 1, 2023. The younger Rhee died of old age at Seoul National University Hospital at the age of 92 on Nov. 1. The April 19, 1960, students' movement against the autocratic rule of the elder Rhee followed the discovery of massive rigging of the presidential election.
