SEOUL, Mar. 27 (Yonhap) -- Japanese animation "Suzume" has topped the Korean weekend box office for three consecutive weeks.

 

According to the Korea Film Council's Box-office Information System on Monday, "Suzume'" topped the list with 757,000 audiences (66.1% of sales share) for three days (24-26) over the weekend.

 

By the previous day, the cumulative number of audiences was 2.964 million, which is expected to surpass 3 million during the day.

 

"Suzume" is a long-term hit this weekend, attracting more than 694,000 people on the first weekend of its release and 712,000 on the second weekend.

 

Directed by Park Sung-kwang, "Woongnami" ranked second with 117,000 (9.5%) people on the first weekend of its release.

 

"The First Slam Dunk," which had been in second place since the release of "Suzume," fell to third place.

 

Director Steven Spielberg's "The Fabelmans," which celebrated its first weekend with "Woongnami," ranked fifth and children's animation "GG Bond: Ocean Mission" ranked 10th.
