SEOUL, Oct. 28 (Yonhap) -- K-pop supergroup BTS entered three categories as nominees for the upcoming 2021 People's Choice Awards, an American pop culture awards ceremony.
The seven-piece act was nominated in the categories of the Group of 2021, Song of 2021, and Music Video of 2021 with its Billboard Hot 100 chart topper "Butter," according to the People's Choice Awards' official website on Thursday.
For the Music Video of 2021, "My Universe," BTS' collaboration number with British rock band Coldplay, also earned a spot as a nominee along with "Butter."
Last year, BTS won four different categories at the People's Choice Awards.
Tomorrow X Together (TXT), which is also managed by the same agency as BTS, entered the New Artist of 2021 category as a nominee for this year's awards ceremony. In this section, artists who have been greatly loved this year, including The Kid Laroi and Olivia Rodrigo, will compete against TXT.
"Tomorrow x Together is the only K-pop group who have been nominated for the awards ceremony beside BTS," the K-pop act's agency Big Hit Music said. "This shows TXT's rising global status."
The People's Choice Awards ceremony will be held on Dec. 7 in Santa Monica, California..
