SEOUL, September 5 (Yonhap) -- Kim Jae-hwan from Wanna One came back as a grown-up singer and songwriter.
"I would be really happy to be recognized by my fans not just as a singer who sings but also as a song writer," he said at a media event for his fifth mini album "Empty Dream" on Monday in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Kim Jae-hwan participated in writing the lyrics and composing for all the tracks in the album, just like he did for his fourth mini album, "THE LETTER," which was released in December of last year. The album consists of six tracks, including "Us At That Time," the title song, which is an R&B genre with a hint of rock sound, and more songs such as pop, synth pop, indie pop, and acoustic band songs.
Kim Jae-hwan answered, "I wish I could take over the KIM from the Kim (Kim beomsoo), Na (Naul), Park (Park hyosin), and Lee (Leesu)" and laughed at the question asking him about his future goals. Koreans refer to the four greatest vocalists in Korea as Kim-Na-Park-Lee.
Kim Jaehwan made his debut as a member of the Korean boy group 'Wanna One', which was formed through the Mnet audition program 'Produce 101' Season 2 in 2017. Afterwards, he released his first mini-album, "Another," in 2019 and started a full-fledged solo career.
