SEOUL, Nov. 23 (Yonhap) -- K-pop super group BLACKPINK's music video (MV) of "Kill This Love" has surpassed 1.7 billion views on YouTube, announced their agency YG Entertainment on Friday.

The MV exceeded 1.7 billion YouTube views as of 2: 53 p.m. (KST)

This is a record in three years and seven months since its release in April, 2019 and only five months since the MV surpassed 1.6 billion views.

This achievement made the group the first K-pop act to possess two music videos, "DDU-DU DDU-DU" followed by "Kill This Love," with over 1.7 billion YouTube views. "DDU-DU DDU-DU" has now exceeded 1.9 billion YouTube views.

"Kill This Love" features powerful brass and drum sounds and has an impressive point dance that resembles shooting a gun. The MV also made the top 10 of most watched music video in 2019 as the first K-pop.

BLACKPINK is currently on the largest world tour ever for a K-pop girl group, gathering 1.5 million fans. Recently finishing concerts in North America, they will go on Europe tour beginning with London, the United Kingdom.
