SEOUL, April 3 (Yonhap) -- "I worked hard to live up to the title of 'monster rookie.' I'm happy to have the opportunity to show it."
Girl group KISS OF LIFE expressed their feelings at the showcase for their single "Midas Touch," held in Seoul's Gwangjin-gu on the 3rd.
The multinational girl group, consisting of four members, debuted in July last year and garnered attention by sweeping multiple rookie awards, including the Rookie of the Year at the Korean Popular Music Awards.
Their two mini-albums released last year received high praise for their completeness, and their main tracks also gained popularity on major domestic music charts.
Belle remarked, "Although there was pressure due to the public's interest, I think it was a necessary pressure that became the driving force, and I felt like I was growing while taking on new challenges."
Julie added, "To enhance the album's completeness, we focused a lot on the delicate aspects throughout the overall process, including stage performances and recording."
Their new album, 'Midas Touch,' includes the title track of the same name and another track called 'Nothing.'
Member Julie introduced this album as "a record that tells stories about love," explaining that the title track signifies the beginning of love, while 'Nothing' represents its end.

The title track 'Midas Touch' conveys a message of freely and truthfully loving without fearing others' gazes.
Built upon the rough and intuitive sounds prevalent in the 2000s, the song offers a fresh feeling with the addition of the members' unique vocals.
Belle explained, "I thought the public would want something that evokes nostalgia from that era," describing it as a "concept that's hard to come by these days."
Natty also mentioned about the performance of the song, saying they would showcase their own style of the "tuft dance" that was popular in the past.
The track 'Nothing' is characterized by a rich sound created around string instruments and keyboards. Haneul commented, "You'll be able to feel the members' wistful emotions."
KISS OF LIFE has set their goal for this comeback as achieving first place on music shows, a dream for every K-pop rookie group.
Haneul emphasized, "While preparing for this comeback, I also wanted to be known as a 'hot girl.'"
Belle added, "All four of us have strong personalities and overflowing confidence," stating, "In terms of skills, we truly are 'hot.'"
They attributed their ability to capture public attention as a rookie group to their live skills and performances.
Haneul expressed, "We'll be able to showcase a wide variety of genres and different styles in the future," saying, "We have plans to present endless concepts."
