SEOUL, April 2 (Yonhap) -- "We will strive to become artists who can turn the world upside down." (Siyun)

At their first showcase held on the 2nd in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, newcomer boy group NOWADAYS expressed confident debut sentiments, stating, "We will showcase various music styles without confining ourselves to one frame."

Nowadays, consisting of members Hyeonbin, Yoon, Yeonwoo, Jinhyeok, and Siyun, is a newcomer group released by (G)I-DLE's agency, Cube Entertainment, marking the agency's first boy group debut in approximately eight years. The team name embodies their aspirations to bring special memories and moments to the daily lives they are curious about and will create together.

With their self-titled debut single 'Nowadays', they confidently stepped into the music scene, advocating for their own genre called 'Days Pop', derived from their group name.

Member Hyeonbin emphasized, "Our chemistry-filled songs and our unique musicality that showcases our vocal colors perfectly are what define our music as Nowadays," adding, "Our goal is to introduce the 'Days Pop' genre that we've created to the world."

He fervently stated, "Being called 'monster rookies' is also our goal."

Their first single includes three tracks: the title track 'OoWee', which exudes thrilling energy and powerful performances, 'Now', which portrays the desire to leave behind mundane daily life, and 'Ticket', expressing the longing to escape somewhere. Members Jinhyeok and Siyun participated in the lyrics for 'OoWee' and 'Ticket'.

Hyeonbin introduced, "'Nowadays' is an album that can showcase three things: powerful performances, sweet vocals, and special musicality."

He added, "The dream of debuting felt distant at first, but after meeting the members, I approached it with the determination of 'Let's debut and succeed,' so I was able to forget all the difficult processes."

The title track 'OoWee' is a song that harmonizes soulful melodies with hip-hop elements, characterized by addictive 808 bass sounds.

Yoon described the song as "a song that portrays a shy boy falling in love in a sincere and confident manner."
