SEOUL, Mar. 29 (Yonhap) -- Netflix has announced on Wednesday that it will release its new series "Black Knight" starring actors Kim Woo-bin and Song Seung-heon on May 12.

 

"Black Knight" depicts what happens in 2071 when a legendary courier "5-8" with extraordinary fighting skills meets a refugee "Sawol" who dreams of becoming a courier, who cannot live without an oxygen respirator due to extreme air pollution. It is based on a popular webtoon of the same name.

 

Kim Woo-bin plays the role of a powerful legendary courier 5-8 who can't be competed by anyone. He risks his life to deliver for everyone's survival.

 

Actor Song Seung-heon works together as a villain. In a chaotic world, he is the only successor of the Cheonmyung Group, which rules the world with oxygen as a weapon.

 

Kang Yoo-seok will play the role of Sawol, a refugee who envies 5-8, and Lee Som will play the role of Seol-A, a military intelligence major who takes care of Sawol as a family member.

 

Director Cho Eui-seok, who made the films "Master" (2016), "Cold Eyes" (2013), and "The World of Silence" (2006), has directed the film.
