SEOUL, June 16 (Yonhap) —  The Korean vibe is one of the charms of "Halo", the original series of Paramount+, stated Ha Ye-rin and Kong Jung-hwan.

Both Ha Ye-rin and Kong Jung-hwan explained some of the points they want viewers to keep in mind while watching, during the media day held by Paramount+ and TVING on Thursday at Four Seasons Hotel in Jongno.

"Halo" is a blockbuster based on a video game that takes place in 26th century where the human race struggles to survive amongst the alien race.

Ha Ye-rin who will be playing "Kwan Ha" daughter of the resistance leader is not only a play access working in Sydney but also a granddaughter of a very famous South Korean actress Son Sook. Kong Jung-hwan will be playing "Jin Ha" leader of the resistance.

Ye-rin furthered the explanation by saying “it is a story of a mighty soldier created by humankind who struggles through his past while trying to fight off the alien race.” adding “the entire village was wiped out by the alien race including his father, Kwan Ha is the only one who survived.”

When asked about something to look for in the series Ye-rin replied "you can hear Korean in Hollywood series” adding “as an Asian actress I did my best throughout the shooting, and tried to show the best side of me to people."

“Unfortunately 'Jin Ha' is a dad figure who dies way to early in the series” adding “I auditioned for ‘Halo’ because my friend recommended it to me, there were numerous South Korean actors other than myself trying out for the character. At first I was bit shy because I thought I was very lucky to join the crew.” Said Kong Jung-hwan.

Jung-hwan continued “I hope everyone is excited to see how the Korean universe unfolds within American tv series.”

Director Lee Joon-ik the director of the joint investment project "Beyond the Memory (Yonder)" of Paramount+ and TVING participated in the Media day.

"Beyond the Memory (Yonder)" staring Shin Ha-kyun, Han Ji-min, Lee Jung-Eun is a South Korean tv show about a man who receives a message from his dead wife and gets invited to a place where the dead can live with their past memories.

“I am feeling a bit of fear and anticipation since the story I have created will be offered worldwide simultaneously.” Said, director Lee Joon-ik when asked what’s it's like to work with Paramount+.

Director Lee Joon-ik added “humans are creators of stories, it is easy to convey the story to people nearby, but to those outside of the country can be tough.” adding “but the time has changed.”

Moreover, Lee Joon-ik analyzed “our country has gone through the process of learning and overtaking western culture, a single well created content can connect everyone regardless of their culture or history.” adding “an era for matured Korean contents has come.”

“Surviving through constant competition Korean film has matured over the past 100 years.” adding “we are fortunate to have a complicated history because we can make a good story out of pain and hardship that our country went through.”

When asked about the future of K-Contents Lee Joon-ik answered “for writers, good working environment, the establishment of an open studio we don’t have to build and break every time we film something new and active support are much needed.”
