SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Yonhap) -- JTBC drama "Reborn Rich" starring Song Joong-ki has recorded viewership ratings of nearly 20% in just 3 weeks of its release, becoming the most watched series of this year.
According to the data by Nielson Korea on Monday, the fantasy drama "Reborn Rich" has outdistanced ENA hit drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" ("Attorney Woo").
The latest episode, Ep.8, of "Reborn Rich" recorded average nationwide ratings of 19.4%, surpassing drama "Attorney Woo"'s highest ratings, 17.5%.
Placing the highest viewership ratings of miniseries this year in order, "Reborn Rich comes first, followed by "Attorney Woo," "Under the Queen's Umbrella," SBS's "One Dollar Lawyer," and tvN's "Our Blues."
The highest ratings of MBC's "Big Mouth" starring Lee Jong-suk and Im Yoon-ah was 13.7%, and SBS's "Again My Life" 12.0%, "Business Proposal" 11.6%, and "Twenty-Five Twenty-One" 11.5% followed.
While no drama has surpassed ratings of 20% this year, "Reborn Rich" exceeding 20% viewership ratings is predicted as the 16-episode drama just passed the halfway.
The viewership ratings of drama, which made a winning move by airing three episodes a week, have been on a steady rise since the first episode.
In the first week of airing, the first episode recorded 10.8% while the third episode was 6.1%, for the second week, from 11.8% in the fourth episode to 14.9% in the sixth episode, and in the third week, from 16.1% in the seventh episode to 19.4% in the eighth episode.
