SEOUL, Oct. 16 (Yonhap) -- "My Universe," a collaboration piece between K-pop supergroup BTS and British rock band Coldplay, remained at the top of the U.K. Official chart.
The latest joint project between the two bands landed at No. 15 on the latest version of the Official Singles Chart Top 100, announced on Friday (local time).
While the song was down three notches from the previous week's No. 12 on the chart, "My Universe" still remained within the top 20.
"My Universe" drew keen attention from the pop music industry as the collaboration single between BTS, which is famously known to have one of the largest fandom worldwide, and Coldplay, dubbed as the most commercially successful band in the 2000s.
In April. Coldplay's vocalist Chris Martin visited Korea to work on "My Universe" with BTS in person, and the song is also included on Coldplay's ninth album "Music Of The Spheres."
The uplifting song about love transcending all divides also includes Korean lyrics written by BTS members themselves.
"My Universe," which was released Sept. 24, debuted at No. 3 on the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 as of Oct. 1, also marks the first collaboration single for BTS and Coldplay to debut as No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The weekly charts compiled by the Official Charts Company is recognized as an important chart that represents the pop industry along with Billboard.
