GANGNEUNG, Aug. 19 (Yonhap) -- The Gangneung Coffee Festival held in Gangwon Province has been postponed for about a month due to the fourth wave of the novel COVID-19 pandemic.
The 13th Gangneung Coffee Festival, which was originally scheduled to be held between Oct. 6-9, will be pushed back to November, according to the Gangneung Culture & Arts Foundation on Thursday.
The foundation decided to delay the festival for a month, considering that the number of confirmed cases for COVID-19 has been surging up to 2,000 per day nationwide.
This year's Gangneung Coffee Festival will be held as an online and offline festival at the Gangneung daedohobu Government Office from Nov. 25-28.
However, due to the coronavirus, existing offline events will be partially reduced and small-scale family programs will be provided. However, online seminars and events will be actively offered in place of the limited offline activities.
"Since the festival schedule has been postponed in order for everyone's safety, we are preparing various contents for people to enjoy," the Gangneung Culture & Arts Foundation said.
