SEOUL, Sept. 19 (Yonhap) -- "2022 Changwon K-pop World Festival" will be held in Changwon Civic Stadium at 7 p.m. on Oct. 7, Changwon city announced on Tuesday.

K-pop World Festival, marking its 11th anniversary, is Hallyu festival where K-pop lovers all over the world join to compete for performances.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, KBS, and Korean Culture and Information Service co-host and Changwon city sponsors.

K-pop World Festival will be held offline in three years.


Festival was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and foreign competitors competed for finals online last year.

For this year, eight teams from eight countries including Netherlands, Norway, Nigeria, Germany, Mongolia, Bulgaria, Chile, and Japan were chosen as finalists through global audition, which took place in 100 other areas.

Finalists show off their performances at finals held in Changwon.

Actor and Singer Kim Myung-soo (L), singer AleXa, and Sua from girl group Billlie will be on the stage as MCs.

K-pop artists such as Billlie and Brave Girls will perform.

This festival will be aired live through KBS official social media live.

Recorded version will be aired on KBS2TV on Oct. 28.
