Monday shared her ambition, saying, "I always wanted to release a summer song aiming to become the summer queen." Jihan added, "We tried to encapsulate the passionate spirit of our twenties."
Lee Soojin explained, "It's been eight months since our last comeback. We poured our hearts into the preparation, which made the break longer. But we filled it with great songs. This album marks the beginning of Weeekly's twenties."
The title track 'LIGHTS ON' is an up-tempo pop dance song with rhythmic beats combined with synthesizers and brass sounds, characterized by its bright and dynamic appeal.
Since their debut in 2020 with 'Tag Me', singing about the experiences of teenagers, Weeekly has now reached their fourth year. With the youngest member, Zoa, born in 2005, all members are now in their twenties.
Zoa reflected, "With me turning 20, all our members are now in their twenties. As we entered this new decade, we became more considerate and thoughtful of each other. We captured this unique team atmosphere well in the album."
Jihan concluded, "Until now, our songs have captured the excitement of after-school moments and the sentiments of teenagers. With this album, we aimed to tell various stories about the passionate energy of youth and the excitement of summer."
