SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) -- Group BTS’s first solo J-HOPE’s album “Jack in the Box” is receiving positive feedback from foreign press.

British music website NME said “From the ashes, though, comes a star more thrilling and formidable than ever and seemingly unstoppable,” according to his agency, Big Hit Music on July 21.

Rolling Stone, an American monthly magazine that focuses on music, said “Jack in the Box is brief but potent, wth J-Hope’s musical curiosity and dexterity on the mic helping create an immersive world that showcases the inner life of someone who’s on a lot of photographs, but who may not always feel fully seen.”

US magazine Time said, “Self-development and understanding have always been at the core of what made the group different from many of their K-pop peers; clearly J-Hope has not lost that passion for personal growth and willingness to be his own critics.”

A music magazine based in the United Kingdom, Clash and Consequence of Sound, U.S online magazine, also commented favorably about the album.

“Jack in the Box,” which was released on July 15, ranked No.1 on iTunes chart in 49 countries, showing global popularity.

J-Hope’s album is getting a bigger response abroad than in Korea as he is a global idol representing K-pop,
