SEOUL, August 23 (Yonhap) -- Haman County, South Gyeongsang Province announced on Tuesday that it will be holding the "10th Gangju Sunflower Festival' in Gangju Village, Beopsu-myeon, from August 26 till September 12.
The festival is being held in three years after it was paused due to COVID-19.
Starting with the opening ceremony on August 26, Haman county plans to present various events including natural dyeing experience and sales, horseback riding experience, Haman county goods making, local agricultural and special products sales, sale of agricultural products in Gangju Village, Pumba performances, umbrella rental and more.
The admission fee is 2,000 won, and is free for local residents of Beopsu-myeon, the disabled, preschoolers, and those over 70 years of age.
The festival profits will be used for village environment management and facility maintenance.
This festival, which has been held since 2013, has been receiving steady attention with a cumulative number of 660,000 visitors.
"I hope that many people will enjoy and relax through the sunflowers soaking the earth in golden light under the autumn sky in Gangju Village, where the foot of Beopsusan Mountain surrounds the village," said an official of Haman county.
