SEOUL, Nov. 15 (Yonhap) -- tvN's popular drama "Arthdal Chronicles" will return with Season 2 next year.
tvN announced on Tuesday that it has cast Lee Joon-gi, Jang Dong-gun, Shin Se-kyung, and Kim Ok-bin for Season 2 of "Arthdal Chronicles" and began production with the goal of airing next year.
"Arthdal Chronicles" is about stories of heroes becoming different legends in the ancient land of Arth, and season 1 ended in Sep. of 2019.
In Season 2, Lee Joon-gi and Shin Se-kyung will also appear. Lee Joon-gi plays the role of Eunseom, who became a powerful man in the eastern part of the continent, and Shin Se-kyung plays the role of Tanya.
Following season 1, Jang Dong-gun and Kim Ok-bin will play Tagon and the ruler of Arthdal respectively, and Taeal-ha will be playing a politician of desire.
Season 2 will take place approximately 8 years after the Tagon successfully claimed the throne. Tagon's Arthdal Kingdom and Eunseom's Ago union will face each other ahead of the inevitable war that will decide the fate of the Arth land.
The script was written by Kim Young-hyeon and Park Sang-yeon following Season 1 and directed by Kim Gwang-sik of movie "The Great Battle."
