SEOUL, June 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actress Jo Bo-ah and Ro-woon of the boy band SF9 have been confirmed to co-star in JTBC’s upcoming fantasy rom-com series “Destined With You,” the local broadcaster said Monday.
This fantasy rom-com series will revolve around a civil servant who unexpectedly obtains a forbidden book that was sealed for more than 300 years and a lawyer who becomes the victim of the book due to the curse incurred by the book.
In the series, Jo Bo-ah will play the role of Lee Hong-joo, a seemingly ordinary civil servant who works at Onju City Hall. She, who always devotes her utmost effort to solving complaints the City Hall receives, is yet adept at living alone.
In the meantime, Ro-woon will play the opposite role, Jang Shin-yu, an adroit lawyer who coincidentally gets entangled with Lee Hong-joo. He comes to ask Lee Hong-joo for help, as she turns out to be the one who holds the secret to breaking his family curse.
Ha Jun will co-star as Kwon Jae-kyung, Lee Hong-joo’s crush. In the meantime, singer-turned-actress Yura will play the role of Jang Shin-yu’s lover, Yoon Na-yeon.
The series will be based on the script written by screenwriter Noh Ji-seol, who has credits for writing the period romance series “100 Days My Prince” (2018). Producer Nam Ki-hoon, who previously delivered Disney Plus original series “Kiss Sixth Sense” (2022) and OCN original series “Voice 3,” will take the helm.
“Destined With You” will unveil its first episode in August.
