The “AI Keytalk” now stands as a game-changing data and recommendation service that gathers insight from people-powered data reflecting their interests, reviews, and even intentions, and processes them specifically for the movie industry into a practical decision-support system at both business and individual levels.
[※ Editor’s Note: South Korean film industry has been undergoing rapid growth and changes over the past several decades. The tectonic shift in the industry has fostered a launch of a brand-new service analyzing the moviegoers’ decision-making process as well as their background information by deploying big data and artificial intelligence (A.I.).

SEOUL, Feb. 13 (Yonhap) -- “Hollywood-class,” “Demonstrates excellent progress,” “Much more refined,” and “Outstanding CGI.”
These are some keywords extracted from the "AI Keytalk,” which has compiled the reviews on the recently released Netflix sci-fi flick “Jung_E.” The semantic Keytalk, provided by the app "MAIMOVIE," is an AI-powered system that comprehends and interprets the human context and helps one find the most relevant results by analyzing a vast amount of data on moviegoers, including their viewing habits and tastes.
That being said, AI Keytalk can be thought of as the next generation’s keyword database, which has automated the entire search, recommend, and discover cycle with Mycelebs AI. By constantly learning the public reactions and expressions it gathered from various channels, including the news, trends, comments, and reviews, the AI-powered system summarizes data into a set of keywords, also dubbed "Keytalks." Based on these carefully comprehended and personalized keywords, MAIMOVIE then delivers its users to the streaming service that provides the curated recommendations.
The app “MAIMOVIE,” which gathers and analyzes more than 880,000 films from all over the world and their reviews on a real-time basis, also came up with a set of AI Keytalks, or keywords, extracted from the movie “Jung_E.”
In January, when Netflix uploaded the film for international viewing, MAIMOVIE picked up 262 Keytalks from the people's reviews of “Jung_E.” Among the top 30 Keytalks, more than six keywords were related to “posthumous work,” as the sci-fi action-drama was the last work of the late actress Kang Soo-yeon.
As Netflix dropped fresh films and drama series to enter its official charts in February, a whooping 6,298 reviews on this film were gathered, introducing new Keytalks. Among the top 30 updated AI Keytalks, several positive keywords, including “excellent visual art” and “a significant increase in film quality,” were noted.
On the other hand, there were several other Keytalks that reflected rather negative reviews, such as “slightly awkward,” “excessively tear-jerking,” and “feels alienated.”
Several other Keytalks in the top 30 included "more developed (4th), "high-level (5th), "made great strides (6th), "Hollywood-class (8th)," and "eye-catching CGI (27th)."
Among the 6,000 to 7,000 reviews, there were several neutral Keytalks, as some claimed the movie to be "alienated" while others implied that there was "nothing awkward" about the film. That being said, such Keytalks processed and complied by Mycelebs AI imply that this dystopian film can be watched and interpreted in manifold ways and is still drawing attention from international viewers.
*Details on the film and its Keytalks are available in the video.
