SEOUL, Feb. 4 (Yonhap) -- Rock band YB will release its new single Rebellion on Wednesday, marking its first new song in nearly two years, its agency announced on Tuesday.
The song is set to be released at 6 p.m. on major music streaming platforms, the band's management, D Company, said.
Rebellion was written by YB's vocalist Yoon Do-hyun, with composition credits shared between Yoon and producer Choi Tae-seop, a former bassist of the band Rainy Sun.
As a pre-release single from YB's upcoming mini-album set for release on Feb. 26, the song expresses a strong determination to break free from oppression and constraints in pursuit of freedom.
D Company described the track as "a song that signals YB's transition to the hybrid metal genre," promising a "bold and experimental transformation."
The single also features JYP Entertainment's band Xdinary Heroes, who not only contributed to the track but also appear in the music video. Yoon Do-hyun had previously collaborated with Xdinary Heroes, featuring on their song iNSTEAD! last year.
Following the release, YB is set to hold a club concert at Rolling Hall in Seoul on March 1-2.
