SEOUL, Jan. 2 (Yonhap) -- Actress Nana, formerly of girl group After School, has been sued by a man who broke into her home and committed an armed robbery.

According to her agency, Sublime, on Friday, a man in his 30s, identified as A, who was arrested and indicted for aggravated robbery causing injury after breaking into the home of Nana and her mother in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, last November while armed with a weapon and demanding money, recently filed a countercomplaint against Nana, accusing her of attempted murder and aggravated injury.

At the time of the incident, A assaulted Nana’s mother after encountering her inside the house. Nana, who woke up after hearing her mother’s screams, struggled together with her mother and subdued A before reporting the incident to police.

Investigations showed that A suffered a laceration to his jaw from the weapon during the struggle. However, police concluded that the injuries inflicted by Nana and her mother constituted self-defense and did not book them.

Sublime said, “During the crime committed by an assailant armed with a deadly weapon, Nana and her family suffered severe physical and psychological harm,” adding, “Despite this, the perpetrator has shown no remorse and has filed a separate complaint against Nana, exploiting the fact that the victim is a public figure and causing secondary harm through inhumane actions.”

The agency added it would “pursue all possible civil and criminal legal measures against the perpetrator in connection with this matter.”
