SEOUL, June 14 (Yonhap) ---  Daegu city government is connecting both Shincheon which runs through the center of Daegu and Geumhogang using scenic lighting.

The city plans to install landscape lightings by the entrance of the pedestrian bridge leading into river archipelago and under Nogok-gyo.

Redesigning part of Gyeongbu Expressway into "gate of light" is expected to shine the light on Daegu’s dynamic side.

In addition, there will be significant changes made to pre-existing lightings in both Suseong Bridge and Dongshin Bridge. Also improvements will be made to fountains in Daebong, Shincheon, and Chimsan.

Daegu city plans on establishing “masterplan for the light map” which will lay the foundation for harmonious environment of evenly mixed light and darkness throughout the city.

The longterm goal is to create and manage a lighting system where illuminance, luminance, temperature of the color, and more can be personalized based on the characteristics of the space in order to create a night few one can only see in Daegu. Also the guideline will include prevention methods for the light pollution.
