SEOUL, June 17 (Yonhap) -- Korean rock band Crying Nut released their new song 'Lonely Petals Meet and Become Butterflies,' its agency, Drug Records, said on the 17th.

The new release comes approximately a year after their digital single 'Overtime' was unveiled in June last year.

Having debuted in 1995, Crying Nut is celebrating their 29th year in the music industry this year, with their 30th anniversary coming up next year. The agency described this new song as the starting signal for their 30th-anniversary project.

The song 'Lonely Petals Meet and Become Butterflies' begins with the sound of a train whistle, signaling a new beginning. Crying Nut sings about feeling desolate and lonely at times, much like fallen leaves, but finding hope and transformation, like petals that dance until they become butterflies.

The agency explained, "This song is another form of comfort from Crying Nut, reaching out to those who feel alienated or lonely and inviting them to join in." They added, "The members, who have been tirelessly active for 29 years, convey the message 'we are still alive, we can run again,' giving courage to those who are weary and fallen. The guitar and drum sounds will make quiet hearts beat fast again."

Last year, they were invited to perform at Lincoln Center during 'Korean Arts Week,' co-hosted by the Korean Cultural Center New York and Lincoln Center.

On the 23rd, Crying Nut is set to perform at the 'Asian Pop Festival 2024' at Paradise City in Incheon.
