SEOUL, Mar. 21 (Yonhap) -- MBC announced on the 21st that it has cast actor Lee Se-young in the new Friday-Saturday drama "The Story of the Contract Marriage of Yeolnyeo Park," which is scheduled to air in the second half of this year.
Based on a web novel of the same name, "The Story of Contract Marriage of the Yeolnyeo Park" tells the story of Park Yeon-woo, a Joseon-era Yeolnyeo, when she opened her eyes in Korea in 2023.
In the role of Park Yeon-woo, Lee Se-young, who performed enthusiastically in MBC's historical drama "The Red-Stained Sleeve Cuff" (2021), has been casted.
Park Yeon-woo loses her husband on the first night of the wedding and is kidnapped by a gunman and thrown into a well.
Park Yeon-woo, who wakes up in South Korea in 2023, is to meet Kang Tae-ha, a man with the same face as her deceased husband, and marry him on a contract.
Producer Park Sang-hoon of MBC's dramas "Radiant Office" (2017) and "My Secret Terrius" (2018) and writer Ko Nam-jung of TV Chosun's "Wife Scandal" (2014) worked together.
The production team said, "Please look forward to the exciting fantasy comic love story and Lee Se-young's acting transformation."
