SEOUL October 06 (Yonhap) -- Actor Hong kwang-ho, Lee Choong-joo, actress IVY, Kim Ji-woo and more has been casted for the upcoming musical, “Moulin Rouge!” premiering in December for the first time in Asia.
On Thursday, CJ ENM revealed the list of casts of “Moulin Rouge!” which will be on stage from December 20 March 5 of 2023 at Shinhan Card hall at Blue Square Yongsan in Seoul.
Musical “Moulin Rouge!” is about a love story between the head star Satine of “Moulin Rouge” located within Paris France, and producer “Christian from 1980s.
South Korean singer and musical actress IVY and Kim Ji-woo will be acting out the female protagonist Satine, and actor Hong Kwang-ho and Lee Choong-joo will be acting out the male protagonist Christian.
Character Harold Zidler, the owner of club Moulin Rouge, will be acted out by actor Lee Jung-youl and Kim Yong-su. Continuing on, The Duke of Monroth who sponsors club Moulin Rouge will be played by Son Joon-ho and Lee Chang-yong.
Musical “Moulin Rouge!” which is based on the movie first premiered in Broadway in 2019 received “The Best Musical” from the 74th Tony Award and in total of 10 awards.
CJ ENM participated as a co producer of the musical “Moulin Rouge!” will be premiering in December following shows in United States, United Kingdom, Germany and more, South Korea will be the first Asian country to premiere the license version of the musical.
