SEOUL, Dec. 12 (Yonhap) —Actor and director Lee Jung-jae, "queen of figure skating" Kim Yuna, and "hope of Korea's swimming" Hwang Sun-woo were awarded with the "2023 Korean Image Awards," according to the Corea Image Communication Institute (CICI) on Monday.
Lee Jung-jae will receive the "Korea Image Stepping Stone Award" for winning the Emmy award for best male actor and making his debut as a director for the movie "Hunt," which contributed the most to enhancing a positive image of Korea.
Kim Yuna, who made a record in Korea's figure skating history, will receive the "Korea Image Corner Stone Award," which is given to a figure who continuously contributes to enhancing the image of Korea, and Hwang Sun-woo, who won the gold medal in the FINA short course world championship, will receive the "Korea Image Sprout Award," which is given to a figure who is younger than 20 years old.
The "Korea Image Stepping Stone Bridge Award," given to foreigners (or companies) who served as a bridge to promote Korea to the world, will be awarded by the Euro Fashion House, which has introduced K-culture charm to the world through fashion.
