Actor Cha In-pyo to become professor for K-Culture Entertainment

SEOUL, July 27 (Yonhap) -- Actor Cha In-pyo stands on stage in university for lecture.

Kyungil University recently established a K-Culture Entertainment Department and succeeding in bringing one of the first Hallyu-stars, Cha In-pyo as the professor starting from next year, reported the university and the entertainment scene on the 27th.

Cha In-pyo was not only a successful actor but also an accomplished writer and director. He published novels such as “Goodbye, Hill”, “Today’s Forecast” and “Ongals”, a documentary film which he directed, was invited ‘Jeonju International Film Festival’.

Meanwhile, K-Culture Entertainmnet Department of Kyungil University is recruiting freshmen for separate majors, entertainment and OTT (short for Over-The-Top media service directly providing the viewers with media service via online)·Movie·Drama major.

A large training center in a capital area near Gangnam, Seoul, offering 2-year-actual training curriculum for third graders or above. Also, the department partnered with NewYork Film Academy so that the students can get a dual degree after studying abroad for an year. It is planning to co-produce a documentary with a prestigious college in Western America.

Cha In-pyo showed his ambition saying, “I will do my best to grant new opportunities for the non-capital area students who did not have as many chances to be provided with education about the public culture as those in Seoul.”
